Symphony #4

for flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, contrabassoon, soprano saxophone, baritone saxophone, 2 trumpets, horn, trombone, tuba, 2 percussionists, accordion, harp, piano, bass guitar, vocal sextet and strings 44444

This symphony in one movement was composed in 1998. It consists of several episodes played attacca. Because of special orchestra seating and the way the orchestra performs, the audience will experience movement in space in relation to the orchestra before the beginning of each episode.

The symphony has all the features of synchronous music, primarily the simultaneous unfolding of two or more compositions. These compositions possess their own musical material, style, tempo, form and texture. They interact and develop. I call it 'counterpoint of logical structures'. You can find 'counterpoint of logical structures' analyzing any musical masterpiece, regardless of its style.

One important difference between synchronous music and other musical styles: synchronous music is totally inclusive and does not reject any style.
